Babar Azam completed 4000 runs in T20I and became the first cricketer for Pakistan to do so.
Just before the T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistan team toured England under the captaincy of Babar Azam and the team lost 2-0 in the four-match T20I series at the hands of the current T20 World Champion England. Pakistan could not win the series under the captaincy of Babar Azam, but in the last match, Babar Azam scored 36 runs in 22 balls with the help of one six and 5 fours and broke a big record of Virat Kohli. In the fourth match, Pakistan scored 157 runs and in response, England won the match by scoring 158 runs for 3 wickets in 15.3 overs.
Babar Broke Virat Kohli’s Record
Babar Azam played an innings of 36 runs in the fourth T20I match against England and he became the highest run scorer against England in T20I cricket. Babar Azam has so far scored a total of 660 runs against England in the shortest format of cricket, while Virat Kohli has so far scored 639 runs against this team.
That means Babar Azam has broken this world record of Virat Kohli for now. In the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs in T20Is against the English team, Aaron Finch is at number four with 619 runs while Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan is at fourth place with 560 runs.

Babar Completed 4000 Runs in T20I
On the basis of his innings played in the fourth match against England, Babar Azam completed 4000 runs in T20I format. He became the first batsman from Pakistan to score 4000 runs in the shortest format of cricket and created history while overall he became the second batsman in the world to do so.
The first batsman to touch the figure of 4000 runs in T20I was Virat Kohli. Now Babar Azam has become the second batsman in the world along with Virat Kohli to touch this figure of runs. Kohli is the batsman who has scored the most runs in T20I while Babar is at second place.
