WHAT HAPPENED?
The much-anticipated match between City and Pep Guardiola’s former club at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, was delayed by an hour and 20 minutes after a weather warning was issued. “The match has been temporarily delayed due to bad weather,” a message on the stadium’s big screen said an hour before the match was due to kick off.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
City’s first match on the US tour was a 4-3 loss to Celtic due to bad weather. Fans were forced to leave Canon Stadium in Chapel Hill. Conditions were calm before the match started after a weather warning, but the match was not delayed.
DID YOU KNOW?
City is not new to pre-season games being disrupted by bad weather. Their 2022 match against Bayern Munich at Lambeau Field was suspended due to a lightning storm. Their match against Atletico Madrid during last year’s Asian tour was postponed for 45 minutes due to rain in Seoul.
WHAT NEXT?
City complete their US tour next Saturday against Chelsea in Ohio. They will then compete in the Community Shield against arch-rivals Manchester United on August 10.
